Plus Size Workout of the Month: Total Body Challenge (Bodyweight Challenge)

The Plus Size Workout of the Month for July 2016 is a total body challenge using bodyweight exercises. As with all exercise, if it’s been a while since you were physically active or you have any health concerns, please check with your doctor to make sure they are happy for you to increase your activity. In most cases, they will encourage you to start moving more but it’s always been to get the okay for your unique set of circumstances.

This is a great workout to use as a bit of a fitness test. Don’t do it all the time – maybe every few weeks or perhaps once a month to track how you’re improving. Decide if you’d like to do a 20, 30 or 40 minute challenge.

Set a timer and go for it. Aim to do as much as you can in the time period you’ve selected. Once you get tired from one exercise, move onto the next. Keep cycling through until the timer goes off. Record next to the exercise name, how many you got done within the time frame.

When you do the workout again, your aim is to get more reps done in the same time frame while maintaining good form. Make sure you ask over on our Facebook page if you’re not sure how to do something. If there is something you’re not able to do, you could either substitute it for something you can do or just omit that particular exercise.

  • Walk/Jog (between 2 points)
  • Push Up
  • Sit Stand
  • Stick Up
  • Walk Out Burpee
  • Front Kicks
  • Step Ups
  • Total Body Extensions
  • Basic Crunch
  • Glute Bridge/Butt Lift
